Looking Back on IBA

General Meeting

​

IBA members were divided in two groups. Each group was assigned to work in an specific area of the SWOT about graphene. Some of the students are new in the group. There was a lot of laughs and hard work. 

General Meeting

Another great General Meeting with IBA. Members heard from the club president about upcoming events and the schedule for the rest of the semester. Members also enjoyed food and games while hanging out with their peers.

SPECIAL GUEST: JAVIER BARRANTES

Mr. Javier Barrantes is the Chief of Client Business Division in the UNDP. He shared with students his knowledge from many years working for the United Nations. Some key takeaways included the power of perseverance, as well as the importance of keeping Christ at the center of your life, no matter what field or industry you go into. 

FIRST PROJECT MEETING OF THE SEMESTER

Today was IBA's first project meeting of the semester. This semester we will be working on a project to help a graduate student with his new business.

SPECIAL GUEST: LARRY SCHAEFER

Larry Schaefer specializes in aquaponics, the fascinating process of climate-proof, sustainable agriculture that will change the world. IBA members enjoyed hearing Larry's speech about the Scripture while having Chick-fil-A. 

First General Meeting Spring 2022

First General Meeting of the semester! We had so much fun playing games and getting to know each other. IBA members learned the group's vision and mission, met the executive team, and heard the announcements for further activities throughout the semester. Also, the members enjoyed some delicious Chick-fil-A while they were listening. It was a great night! IBA leaders are excited to see the same faces and new ones in the next meetings.

CLUB FAIR

This past semester IBA was present in Club Fairs and CFAW events. Come by and say hi to the leaders of the club. We are happy to see the members and meet new ones! 

SPECIAL GUEST: JOSH WALTMAN

Josh Waltman specializes in Information Technology and corporate research. He is very helpful in discovering resources for international business research. IBA members learned different methods of research through the library website. The new website contains a large amount of data to help the students see information about the company and how it works.

Working from Home

SPEAKER HANRI KAYA, CFO OF ZENITH QUEST CORPORATION

IBA Members got to hear from Hanri Kaya, the CFO of Zenith Quest Corp. She discussed doing business between the US and Turkey and her experience as a Christian working in international business.

JOINT EVENT WITH UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS & SPEAKER MIRI RODRIGUEZ

This was a virtual event coordinated with the Global Business Initiative at University of Kansas. The speaker was Miri Rodriguez, the head of global internships at Microsoft. Members were able to learn about several incredible opportunities for internships, both virtual and physically.

Final General Meeting

Members got the chance to hear from Lloyd Pemberton from career services. Mr. Pemberton shared vital career advice with the team. Highlights included resume tips, finding internships and what to expect in a job interview. Club members enjoyed Chipotle to finish off a semester of hard work! Looking forward to seeing everyone next semester!
